Fines for medium and small businesses without a Whistleblower System.
Today, December 1, 2023, is the deadline for all companies with between 50 and 249 employees to implement a Whistleblower System.
Whistleblower Systems and Law 2/2023
Last February 21, Law 2/2023, also known as the Whistleblower Protection Law, was published in the BOE, which regulates the protection of persons who report any regulatory or corruption violation. This law established a deadline of December 1, 2023 for the implementation of a Whistleblower System in companies with more than 50 employees.
The main function of a Whistleblower System is to allow employees to report any situation or irregularity in a completely anonymous and secure way. It must be a tool that is always available, easy to use, anonymous and totally secure. Its management must also be totally confidential and secure.

There are currently more than 26,000 medium-sized companies in Spain that must have an active Whistleblower System as of today if they do not want to be exposed to significant fines that could reach up to one million euros.
